More Than the Accomplishments

Rev. Hollie Marie Lopes is a Certified Christian Life Coach, Spirit-led identity and transformational coach, ordained minister, senior federal leader, mother of two, and founder of Beyond The Next Win™. Her life has crossed government, technology, ministry, advocacy, teaching, mentoring, and service. Yet the heart of her work is not found in the titles she has earned. It is found in her understanding of what can remain unsettled beneath a life that looks accomplished from the outside.

For much of her life, Hollie believed the next achievement, degree, leadership opportunity, or act of service would finally create the peace, confidence, and sense of worth she was seeking. She knew how to accomplish. She knew how to lead. She knew how to serve. She also knew what it was to wrestle privately with comparison, self-doubt, perfectionism, negative self-talk, fear of failure, and the belief that her value had to be continually proven.

Through mentorship, spiritual reflection, therapy, and her own healing journey, Hollie began uncovering the internal narratives and performance-based beliefs that had quietly shaped the way she saw herself. She came to understand that an accomplishment can celebrate what we have done, but it cannot carry the responsibility of telling us who we are. That realization became the foundation of Beyond The Next Win and the question at the center of its work: “What is the heart saying underneath that pursuit?”

Faith, Ministry, and Advocacy

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Hollie accepted her call to ministry in 2000. She serves as an Assistant Pastor of Beloved Community Church in Accokeek, Maryland, under the leadership of Rev. Samoris Hall and Rev. Dr. Paula Hall. Before joining Beloved Community Church, she served on the ministerial staff of Grace United Methodist Church for twelve years in numerous

leadership capacities. During that time, she developed ministries including Abstinence Till Marriage, Pearls of Perfection, and Single Parenting.

Hollie is also the minister and founder of Priceless Gems Ministry. Its work focuses on educating churches and communities about human sex trafficking; building meaningful relationships with survivors; and supporting organizations that provide survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence with shelter, clothing, food, and essential life skills. She has served as a member of both the Prince George’s County and Maryland Human Trafficking Task Forces.

Her advocacy has been recognized with the 2017 Good Samaritan S/Hero Award for her continued service to domestic-violence and human-trafficking communities and organizations. In 2018, she received the Leadership Award from the Prince George’s County Human Relations Commission/Human Trafficking Task Force for developing training programs, seminars, and services throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Teaching has remained an important part of Hollie’s ministry. She has taught Children’s Church, Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, the United Methodist Church School of Christian GrowthAfrican Methodist Episcopal Sunday school conventions, seminars, and retreats across denominations.
